there's a reason I LOVED the idea behind this kit because our home means so much to me. We love just hanging out there & we are so lucky to have something we've worked so hard to have & love so very much. I really loved working with this kit. So much goodness in there. I also used my enamel dots on there too :)

remember everything is 35% off through the weekend! We also extended the $1 May Stash kits through the end of the day today! how awesome is that?

I'll be hosting a chat tomorrow at P&Co too! right before the first Speed Scrap! {11:00 am mountain, 12:00 pm central}. Come join me! I may have something special just for you!

happy shopping & scrapping!

she's 6

today. she's six. she's gone from our tiny little peanut to a long legged blondie, her daddy's "sugar". she's loud. she's happy. she's sassy. she's lovable. she's a smart cookie. she's funny. she's weird. she's overdramatic. she's quirky. she's outgoing. she's magnetic. I think she has just about everyone she knows wrapped around her little finger {even her brothers, who will never admit it}.

right now...

she has 2 baby teeth lost.

she can tie her own shoes.

she can read pretty darn well.

she knows her way around an iPhone & iPad.

she sings EVERYTHING.

she loves school.

she loves chocolate milk.

she likes chicken patties with ketchup.

she loves donuts.

she loves Baked Lays.

she likes pineapple the best.

she tortures the dog & her brothers.

she hates sleeping in her bed.

she loves Sponge Bob.

she love lounging in her jammies.

she still carries around her pink blankie she got the day she was born.

she hates when she doesn't get to go to school.

that's our girl, in a nutshell, at 6.

Sunday we had a family lunch to celebrate. She chose spaghetti & fruit salad, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting & chocolate ice cream. Tonight we'll head for supper to Happy Joe's where she can toot the birthday horn & play games & eat pizza. Finally this Sunday, she gets to have some girls from her class over for mani-pedis & a tea party. I know, it's dragging on, but this girl seriously LOVES her birthday. My parents always made a pretty big deal out of our birthday's growing up & it was something I always cherished. I love doing the same for our kids.

we love you Lyd!

crock pot beef stew

tonight... this was happening in the Meierotto house...

it's kinda cold, wet & nasty out. My oldest mentioned beef stew the other day & I decided I needed to make some soon. So, I sorta put together my own recipe & hoped it would turn out. Add in a little homemade bread {frozen bread dough, people}. I have to say... Y.U.M. I LOVE my crock pot. Something about spending a bit in the morning preparing & not having to think about supper the rest of the day is bliss in my book. I had a few people ask me for my recipe, so I'll give it to you {to the best of my ability}.

Crock Pot Beef Stew

2 lbs Beef Round Steak {cut into 1" cubes}

1/2 cup flour {seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic salt}

1/2 lg onion coursely chopped

1/2 green pepper coursely chopped

1 bag baby carrots

1/2 bag frozen mixed veggies or green beans

8-10 "b sized" red potatoes quartered {I left the peel on mine}

1 lg sweet potato peeled & cubed

1 can stewed tomatoes with juice

4 cups beef boullion

Put flour & seasoning in a gallon ziploc bag. In parts, add beef pieces in the bag with flour & coat. Add to a medium to medium high skillet coated with oil or spray. Brown both sides of the beef & repeat until all the beef is browned. Place beef in a crock pot, add rest of the ingredients, stir, cover & cook on high for 6-8 hours. It was so good, made the perfect broth with all the flavors mingling all day. We served ours with crusty bread I made from frozen bread dough {perfect for dipping}. This made for a pretty full crock pot. We have a good amount of leftovers, which I LOVE. Maybe even some for the freezer!

enjoy!

October house party

ummmm. can someone tell September it was way too short & it kinda freaked me out when my 5 year old came into our room this morning announcing "it's OCTOBER!!!" {yeh, she's kinda obsessed with the calendar... girl always knows what day it is better than I do}. It's not that I don't love this time of year, but how fast time's been slipping by lately has my head spinning! Oh well, I guess time flies when you're having fun & are busy, so I'll stop complaining :)

The great thing about the start of a new month?  A new house party at DHD!

project life. week 12.

watch out... it's getting crazy over here... I've completed 3 weeks with in the last week!  trying my hardest to get caught up & feeling better about it.  actually I think I'm getting hooked on it again!  I'm enjoying looking back on our photos & my facebook & instagram posts to see what was happening.

I didn't have as many photos & so I chose to edit it down to a one page instead of two.  totally good with that.

great weather led to our first dq visit of the season. dan found an old kite in our garage & set it up for the kids.  we live in a high spot & get a lot of wind, so it's a great place for kite flying.  Collin went for an eye checkup, new prescription for his contacts & he picked out new glasses... what a handsome young man.  the next day Lydia & I had dr visits.  She had her 5 yr checkup & I had blood tests to see how my iron stores were doing {all is good in both depts}.  the center picture is our amazing sky one day I took with my iPhone. awesome.  Lydia got into my makeup bag & tried her eyeliner skills... on her eyebrows.  hmm, not quite hun. The kids have also been enjoying riding 4wheelers around the house & sometimes some farther treks when Dan can take them.

I'll keep plugging away... hope to be back soon with more!
