family pictures

Every year we try to do family pictures at some point in time... many times it's been during the summer when Dan & I celebrate our anniversary & the boys have their photos taken for their birthdays or something like that. This year I really wanted to do a family photo, but we had a crazy busy summer & the last several months have raced past.  My sister Carol {our amazing family photog} had taken my brother's family to this location a few weeks back to get my nephews senior pictures & snapped some amazing family photos of them as well.  So, I really wanted to try this place for our family too.  For locals, or anyone who grew up in our area, this is a little roadside area as your driving out of Nauvoo.  I remember when we were little going here with picnic lunches. It was a little cool, but the kids loved it... so beautiful!  I thought I'd share some of my favorites she captured today. Of course we can't ever seem to get a group shot where everyone is looking at the camera or smiling, but I love them anyway :)

3 wishes

so one month from today is my birthday... my hubby always complains he doesn't ever know what to buy me, so hey, I thought I'd help the poor guy out.  I love getting catalogs in the mail that I open up & have so  much lovely stuff.  Yesterday it was the Title Nine catalog... here are 3 things that all share one thing I LOVE: stripes. I don't know what it is, but I just love 'em.

I mean, how could you not love this scarf?  It comes in 2 other color combos too, but love that pop of color!

& this dress... just looks comfy & flattering & would look really cute with some boots that I have :)

& this sweater... omgoodness, love at first sight.

wanna chat?

I had a great opening day over at Design House Digital & am excited tonight to be hosting a live chat in the Scrap Room Forum at 7pm mountain/8pm central time.  If you need any extra incentive... I'll have this cool freebie to send you after the chat is over... but you have to chat to get it :)  

sweet, huh? It's a layered template for a 5x7 card... meaning you can place your own photos & put your own sentiment & extras like I did in the example above.  Nothing says it needs to be a thankful card either... the type is totally removable.  How cute would it be for a baby announcement?

hooray hooray! today's the day!

It's officially the first day of my new adventure with my shop at Design House Digital!  I can't even begin to tell you how excited I've been to be part of this great website & all the great creative people that go along with it. Go on over & check out all the 45 new kits that are being released today & are 30% off for just today... except for all my kits, which will be on sale today through Sunday!  YAY!  It's a great way to stock up some great new stuff! For me today, I've got lots of stuff to catch up on around home, but I've promised myself to do a little digi-scrappin' myself to celebrate!  I'll post here what I come up with & on the DHD gallery :)  Enjoy!

lose for good...

as many of you know I'm a pretty loyal Weight Watchers member... I've followed the program after each of my kids {of course sometimes with more success than others!}.  I've always done the online version until a friend of mine asked if I'd like to go to meetings with her.  I started meetings 6 weeks ago today & along with my friend & my sister {& soon my mom!} we've been plugging away.  Tonight is my weigh in & I'm hoping that I'll reach the 20 pound mark since starting the meetings!  Before I'd started the meetings, I had lost about 18 or so over the previous 2 years... so yes, the meetings are working great for me!  

Weight Watchers has a really cool thing going on now called Lose for Good... where Weight Watchers members lose weight & in turn the company donates money to fight against hunger.  So just by posting this on my blog today...
