weekend

So we had a busy, tiring weekend. Friday was the last day of "Power Lab" Bible School for the boys & they ended it with a concert on Friday night. Here they are doing one of their songs.

On Saturday morning we all went to Morning Sun to show our support for a co-worker of Dan's that was killed in a motorcycle accident at the dealership about a month ago. Shottenkirk was sponsoring a pancake breakfast to benefit his kids. From there, me & the kids headed to Iowa City to stay with my sister Kathy & her family overnight & Dan headed to his sister Cindy's in Champaign to stay overnight before going to the Brickyard {I'll have to get some pics of that}. Kathy, Lydia & I did a little shopping while her husband Bob & their kids Alec & Erin went fishing with our boys {all throwbacks}. They had a great time, but were a little stinky when they were done!

Sunday we hit Stuff {consignment store in Coralville}. Got some really great deals on some clothes for Lydie for next summer & some shirts for the boys for school too! Met everyone for lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings..... yum! Lydia was so hungry by the time we got our food she was stuffing her face & being very un-ladylike! Headed home a little later & got home just in time to be greeted with thunder, lightening, wind & lots of rain. Luckily, nothing too severe. We were all very happy to be home, especially Lydia, who was touching all her things as soon as we got in the door!

Crazy Weekend

I have to admit, I'm dreading this weekend a little. Dan's going to the Brickyard in Indianapolis with several members of our family & I'm getting left behind with the kids. I hope he has a great time, but I hope I don't lose my mind either! So, I think the kids & I will go visit my sister & her family in IC. Maybe spend some time shopping.... Collin needs new shoes for school, I need new, smaller pants & I think we'll look for some things for Lydia that will occupy her a little more. Oh, & the boys still have some gift cards that are burning through their wallets. I promised Collin he could pick out the rest of his birthday gift too. {He turns 9 on the 29th!}. Maybe we'll go visit some places I haven't gotten to for a while... {Sister's Garden}!?!

Lydie Friday

As some of you may know, Friday is Lydia's "day off" from the babysitter. Sometimes I wish there were more days, but I tell you what, stuff just doesn't get done in a timely fashion with her around! I really love seeing the amazing change from week to week, though. Today she was very interested in what uncle Rick & cousin Brennan were doing {my brother is also our contractor & she is absolutely enthralled with my nephew}. Here are some pics of her watching them out our doors with cousin Payton, who has been helping me out ALOT with the kids this summer.

This was so cute, too, so I have to share. Lydie found these glasses that go with a nerf gun game that the boys have & cousin Brennan put them on her & she was happily walking around the living room with them on. She kept taking them off & going back to him to have him put them back on.

summer fun

Thought I'd share a fun, quick layout I did on Sunday of Lydia & her first time w/ the slip n slide about a month ago. Wish I would have had our video camera out when she saw the boys sliding down it that day... so funny. She was constantly giggling & immediately wanted to get into the water herself. Collin tried to take her down once, but she wasn't too into that. She just wanted to stand next to it & put her head into the spray. So cute... I think she would of stayed out there the entire day! She's definitely a water baby. Oh & I couldn't resist this swimsuit when I saw it at Target.... it's got it all... brown, polka dots & a ruffle butt!
