Thursday again...
amazing isn't it, how this day always sneaks up on us? Usually I'm here telling you about new digital goodness I've created & am releasing, but sorry, not today! Since I started designing in September for DHD, I've had some sort of release every Thursday & it makes me sorta sad that I didn't get to release anything today, but I've had too much going on! Between the regular mom, housekeeping, meal maker & just whatever everyday things that usually keep me on my toes throughout the week I picked up an extra design gig with a short deadline. I'm LOVING everything that's going on right now, even if it makes things a little crazier than normal! Can't wait to share what I've been up to in a few months :)
Another thing that we've been working away on {ok, well, this is mostly Dan's deal} is trying to finish up rooms around the house. Many rooms were painted when we moved in, some completely, some didn't have this or that finished & well, life gets away from you & before you know it we're 7 years in & everything needs to be REpainted! So Dan's done an awesome job last fall getting the kids rooms & dining & living room repainted. A month or so ago he started on the upstairs bathroom, hallway & stairway. Looks great. Same colors... just FINISHED! He's now started on my office. We put in a dormer with extra windows a few years back when we redid the roof & the trim & walls in that portion has never gotten completely done. Can't wait to get it all done... I think the ideas will flow like crazy because it will just be so beautiful!
Many of you close to us also know that Dan has been having issues for several months with different sorts of episodes with his heart. One weekend he woke during the night so scared feeling like his heart was racing, beating out of his chest. Definitely an eye opener. He went in to get checked out the next week & they put him through the blood tests, checked him all out & it looked good. Lose 5-10 lbs, lower sodium intake, lower caffeine, etc etc. Fast forward a few weeks & it happens again {with a few smaller episodes in between}. Again, freaking out, not knowing what is happening. Again to our doctor, who decides the best thing to do is put him on an "event monitor" or heart monitor for a few weeks. When we followed up, they had found a few episodes that had happened while he was wearing it & our doctor suspected something called SVT. He then sets Dan up with a Heart specialist at a nearby hospital. Well fast forward to yesterday & we both took the day off {Lydia was lucky enough to have Daddy take her & pick her up from school!}. To Iowa City we went, hoping to get some answers. Thankfully, it is for the most case a minor thing. Our doctor was correct with the diagnosis of SVT or Supraventricular Tachycardia. yep, that's a mouthful! If you're interested, you can read more about it here. Basically, his heart's electrical system is out of wack. It makes his heart palpatate, some people end up fainting, which is where the problem lies, but luckily Dan has never had that trouble. So, as of right now, we're taking a wait & see approach. No meds, but if it becomes more of an annoyance to him he does have the option of a outpatient surgery. So thankful for everyone for their prayers & support... it really helps.
well, that's enough of that... have a great rest of the week!
