new dollar kit + a little Project Life

We were engrossed in 5th grade boys basketball all day Saturday, so I didn't get to post my newest dollar kit that's up at P&Co. Oh yeh, love me some labels...

these coordinate perfectly with the Mod Pop papers. You get all 25 in .png format, but for those of you hybrid lovers out there, I've also set up a printable .pdf for you as well.

I've also decided to try my hand at Project Life again this year. I need something that is going to be fairly low-key & I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself to do it how I think may be the "right way".  I just want to record what memories I have available, maybe everything won't be perfect, some days & weeks may be not so great, but I'll still have it there for us. So, I'm planning all digital, using Karla Dudley's 8.5x11" Everyday Storytellers templates for the base & my plan is to print at home so I can put them right into a binder & have them to look through right away. That way, they're not stuck on my computer, waiting to send to get printed.  So far... I've done the cover page.

new releases 10.25

hey everyone! hope you've been well this week... we're slowly recovering around here after our youngest had a high fever starting out the weekend Friday. Evidently just a virus, but it hit her hard with 103 degree temps for most of Friday, lower grade 100 degree temps on Saturday & then she seemed to be fine on Sunday. The full days of school this week have been hitting her hard though & so dealing with a tired & cranky 5 year old girl has been trying this week. Luckily, it seems everyone else has escaped it. My husband has been crazy busy at work with his right hand man gone for back surgery, trying to get time between rains to work on a garage project we have going on here & of course, a drain problem at our rental house pops up this week too! I've been trying to juggle kids, house & trying to get my design mojo back & I feel like I was pretty successful this week, having some fun new releases.  I've been taking a few online Illustrator courses, trying to help me out with my illustration abilities & I started messing around with some fox ideas. {I've seen some things in stores & online with foxes & thought it might be fun to try + I love the movie Fantastic Mr Fox}.  So, I guess that's how Like a Fox came about.  I think it woud be fun to use some of the elements for a party, decorations for fall or in a kids room...

& I even put together a set of printable aRt for fun of Mr & Mrs Fox...

you can also find the full kit HERE, which included the papers + elements.

Now, for a little inspiration...

ummm, hello how awesome is this hybrid card!

by {robyn meierotto}

yes... that's our new puppy. the kids have been begging for a dog for a long time & somehow this one ended up dropped off in our yard last Saturday morning. seriously. we often get the dumped pregnant cat, but a super cute puppy? never had that happen before. so, we've adopted her & the kids picked the name: Mabel. I still need to take her to the vet to get her checked out & see if they know exactly what breed{s} she is, but we're thinking a rat terrier mix.

anywho... you can get the dollar kit today & don't forget to take advantage of my 20% off my entire store until the end of this month in celebration of my 2 years at DHD! just enter ThanksFor2 at checkout!

September House Party

I'm a few days late on this post, but thought I'd let you know about what's going on for the September House Party... I personally picked the palette for the party this month {wow, that's lots of P's}.

did I mention that we now have all 3 of our kids in school all day? {well, if it would stop being so hot... they've been having early outs because of the heat since they started}.  It's a bit of a shock, a bit of a relief, but I'm definitely looking forward to their usual routine & my new routine {once I get into the groove}.  How cute are they, though in their school uniforms?  Collin is now in 8th grade, Evan in 5th grade & Lydia is in Kindergarten. She's been the easiest transition into school so far {besides the tired crankiness I knew would happen for the first few weeks after the full days}.  She loves her teacher & keeping her busy is a very good thing.  The boys seem to have transitioned well this year, too & hoping this is a good sign of how the year will progress {fingers crossed}.  I hope your kids are off to a smooth start too.

new dollar kit 8.19

hey everyone... we're winding down our summertime here, as our kids start school Wednesday.  I'm suddenly apprehensive about this upcoming week.  Through the summer I go through the love of no schedule, lazy days, swimming pools & especially no homework drama.... but then there are days I am SO ready for them to go back & have that set schedule & have some time alone to work un-interrupted.  This year is definitely going to be different, as Lydia enters full day Kindergarten, she'll be riding the bus with her brothers, so that means all three up, dressed, fed & out the door by about 7:15.  Of course the boys know the drill {usually with some prodding} & are usually early risers, but their sister isn't used to having to be out of her pajamas by that time at all :)  I'm sure we'll survive...

anyway, I have another dollar kit in the shop today that coordinates with my Hit the Books kits very well...

remember this kit & all the other dollar kits I've released this month will be a dollar until the end of August & then return to regular price.

hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
