sneak peek 12.22

thought I'd give you a little sneak of what I'm releasing this week... not too over.the.top, but I'm trying to fit in extra time with family & some home made gifts too this week.  last week I released the cupcake kits & that's where I took the paper from for this layout.  this week I'll be releasing some more basic stitches in fun colors & a cute & versatile new alpha/number kit {both shown in the layout above}.  I hope you'll enjoy them both... I'm trying to build up my shop with some great things that you can use again & again!

oh... & I thought I'd share these prints I made up for the kids' teachers for Christmas gifts this year.  I changed up colors for each teacher & I hope they enjoy them.

for these I used Karla Dudley's Digi Essentials alpha stamps & then cut some of my solid papers in the letters for the color.  I also used in the background a paper from my Feels Like Home September kit.  I then printed them out on my Epson photo printer.  Easy & done!

new releases 12.16

sorry I'm getting to this so late... the boys had an unexpected late start this morning, so of course that means I had a late start too ;)  anyway, here's what I've got this week... I can't believe it took me so long to do this one {as some little person in the house is so obsessed with cupcakes... we usually make a batch once a week}. I'm just loving the color combo on this & hope you do too... remember these are 30% off today!

& here's a layout I did with the kits...

journaling reads:

"once upon a time... there was a little girl with big ideas... she talked of being a doctor a mommy a teacher & then... she wanted to be everything... yes, everything. she wants to do it all. at 3 1/2... and her name was Lydia"  yep. that's my girl!

ps... check out the DHD blog today for the 1 kit 4 ways feature with my holiDAYs tags!  lots of great inspiration from the decorators!

also... I'm the featured designer this weekend at DHD!  I'll have a free kit, a $1 kit &.... wait for it.... yep, as an early Christmas gift to you my entire store will be 25% off all weekend :) YAY!  happy shopping!

have a sweet day!

giveaway winner + weekend fun

This morning I had miss Lydia draw a winner & I'd like to congratulate DIANA.... you're the winner of my new release giveaway!  You should have a message waiting for you, if not please contact me :)  eNjoY!

here's what Diana wrote...

thanks everyone for the comments!  I love to hear what you're thinking... so please don't be shy :)

In other news, the weekend around here was pretty low key.  We got out Friday night to take the kiddos for pizza & games at the local pizza place because we knew we were looking at some yucky weather Saturday & Sunday.  Well, it held off most of Saturday until the evening & then the snow & crazy wind started!  Sunday was BRRRRRRRR.... beyond cold & so me & the kids stayed in.  The boys played the xBox & Lydia & I watched movies, played doll house & I just did a lot of laundry, dishes & cooking.  Oh & I did participate in the DHD Speed Scrap on Saturday night & had a blast.  Forced me to try some new things... which I LOVED.  The speed scrap also pushed me to start on organizing my digital files in Bridge, which I spent doing for part of the day yesterday.  Not too exciting, but I was happy to stay in & out of the cold!

here's a look at the layout I created for the speed scrap

I thought you might enjoy the close up of this one because one of the "rules" for the crop was to use digital brushes on our layout.  I hadn't used brushes for a while & had a lot of fun playing around again.  If you haven't used brushes, you should definitely try... there are so many cool effects you can make with them.  The ones I used on this page were from Jen Allyson, Karla Dudley & Carina Gardner.

Paper & tag is from Karla Dudley, Stitching & number rubon {& cute kids} are me.

plus I had to do another, just because I felt like playing some more :)  all the brushes here are from Jen Allyson.

Frames from Jen Allyson, alpha from Audrey Neal, scallop edge from Deena Rutter, tape was an internet freebie? & the paper & stitching will be coming from me this week & the little heart pretty soon too.

happy Monday

time for cocoa

hey all... just wanted to pop in & tell show you these little sweet gifts I put together!

I had seen somewhere in twitter-land a link to an idea similar to this where she used these same super cute insulated cups from Target {they come in an 8 pack with lids}.  Here I put my own take on it...

I used a cup with the lid, a couple packages of cocoa {cappucino mix would be delish as well}, these fun snowman shaped marshmallows I found at the grocery store, & some twisty, glittery ribbon & super cool red & white striped straws I found at Hobby Lobby!  Oh... & did I mention that the Warm Wishes printable gift tags coordinate PERFECT with these cups?  Yep, I was a happy girl :)

I opened up the plain file up in Photoshop & added the "time for cocoa" word art & then printed them out

I just cut the tags out with my paper trimmer, punched a hole in the top corner & strung the wired ribbon through that & the drink opening in the lid, then wrapped that around the straw.  The cocoa packets & the marshmallows {which I put in a cellophane bag tied with the same wired ribbon} tucked nicely beside the straw inside the cup.  Super cheap & cute gift for a friend or some cute kids you know :)

ps... don't forget to leave a comment on my new release post from yesterday {I'll draw a winner on Monday!}
