it's all coming back to me...

my love for scrapbooking, that is.  It's interesting that when I started designing products for the scrapbook industry, of course I was scrapbooking all the time & was my favorite pastime.  I couldn't wait to get new pictures, new products & ideas flowed freely.  A few years in designing & it was harder & harder to find the time {or desire} to scrapbook.  I'm not sure if it was because I moved away from my own style or I just wasn't inspired anymore?  I've dabbled here & there with pages, but looking back in my pictures over the last weeks I've noticed how little I've scrapbooked over the last 5 years.  So many photos of the boys when they were not so grown up & the little miss as a baby that have maybe been put into frames, but as you all know... the photos that you capture that don't make their way to a frame are usually the most precious.  Well, I'm back people {in digital form now}... & I'm loving every minute that I can create a new page. I know to some it may sound silly, but I know you scrapbookers know what I mean when I say this is for my kids.  They'll have these memories of how I saw them, how I loved them & how important these little moments were to me.  So here you go, another page completed with photos that just melt my heart.  These were taken when Lydia was about 5 months old, Evan was 5 & Collin was 8.  They were soooo in love with their baby sister.

& here's the new kit that I used to capture this memory!  COZY. {I'll be putting it the store soon}

about the page:

layered template: guide no. 1: three paper peonies. {slightly changed}

all papers: cozy: pink trike design.

reads: i love the way you love her. 2+1=3. july 2007.

just a picture

i had a few spare moments tonight & really wanted to put together a few layouts.... it just sort of makes me feel refreshed sometimes.  plus i have all these pictures my sister took last weekend of the boys.  i had been thinking of a layout for Collin & was thinking of using several pictures.  but you know how sometimes you just have a picture {or several} that just capture you?  the look in his eye, the smile on his face, just made me want to use just this picture so it would be the focus & not get lost with others.  it also gave me a chance to add some journaling about where we're at right now.  sometimes good, sometimes bad, but no matter what i'll always love him {of course}.  i know at heart he's one of the sweetest kids, but lately it seems growing pains have slipped in & we're trying to navigate our way through it all.

about this page:

journaling reads: you at eleven... happy & then not. good & then bad. lovable & then, well, not so much. sweet & then sour. i guess we'll just go with the flow.  love you always. 7.10

supplies: patterned paper: stripy paper kit: pink trike design.  tape pieces: from hugs&kissesNo1 layered template & journaling spot: from memories layered template: katie pertiet designer digitals.

my boys

my awesomely talented big sis Carol came over yesterday to do a super quick photo shoot with the boys... I'm a little behind on getting their yearly pictures taken.  of course they weren't wanting to cooperate, but she got some really great shots of them... here they are, their 15 minutes of fame {really, that's about what they gave us, 15 minutes}.  Carol... you're a miracle worker.

Evan... of course he was being super silly, crossing his eyes & making goofy smiles.  these are just a few that I loved of my little ornery white haired boy...

Collin's always slightly more cooperative & always love looking at the pictures of my handsome young man. seriously this kid is like a miniature version of his dad {don't tell him I said that}...

...and yes, they touched each other! no really they don't always like to admit it, but they really are lost without each other when the other is not around.  love my boys :)

eleven

sniff. sniff. yep today is my Collin's 11th birthday... in some ways I can't believe he's 11 already, but in other ways I totally see it {you know, the attitude, becoming more & more independent...}.

Collin...it's been an interesting year... you've changed in so many ways, but there are always those times where you still need us & I love those times when you just come up out of know where to give me a hug or tell me you love me, or hug your sister.  I hope those times don't end any time soon.  I know there are so many milestones that are fast approaching over the next few years & I'm trying to hold on to every last bit of you!  We love you so much Collin!  you are a great big brother & a wonderful kid.... happy birthday.  {omg dude... I can't believe you're eleven}

about the layout:
